SI Joint Injections for Lower Back, Hip & Buttock Pain
Sacroiliac (SI) joint injections are a minimally invasive treatment used to reduce inflammation and relieve lower back, hip, and buttock pain caused by SI joint dysfunction. Dr. Sid Panchamia explains how this image-guided procedure may help patients experiencing pain after pregnancy, injury, auto accidents, or changes in walking mechanics following knee or hip surgery.
[0:00] Hi, I'm Dr. Sid Panchamia with Omni Spine and Joint. If you're experiencing pain in your lower back that radiates into your buttock or down the back of your leg, it may not be a disc problem. It could be your sacroiliac joint.
[0:14] The sacroiliac joint connects your spine to your pelvis. When that joint becomes inflamed or irritated, it can cause significant discomfort with sitting, standing, walking, or even turning in bed. SI joint pain is especially common in women who have had children because pregnancy can stretch and stress the ligaments around the pelvis.
[0:30] It can also develop after a car accident, a fall, or another type of trauma. Some patients notice it after knee surgery, hip surgery, or even a leg injury because changes in how you walk can place extra stress on the sacroiliac joint. Athletes and patients with prior spine surgeries can also develop SI joint dysfunction.
[0:48] If your pain is mostly on one side of the lower back and worsens when climbing stairs, standing on one leg, or getting out of a car, the sacroiliac joint may be the source.
[1:05] One treatment option we offer is a sacroiliac joint steroid injection. This is a minimally invasive procedure that delivers medication directly into the SI joint to reduce inflammation and pain. The procedure takes just a few minutes and is performed using precise image guidance for accuracy and safety. Most patients go home shortly after and return to light activity within a day.
[1:22] The goal is to calm the inflammation, reduce the pain, and improve function so you can move more comfortably. If you've had persistent low back pain after an injury, car accident, or even without a clear cause, an SI joint injection may be worth discussing. For those patients dealing with anxiety, we offer safe sedation options. We treat patients in Riverview, Clearwater, and the surrounding Tampa Bay community. Call our Riverview office at (813) 533-5522 or our Clearwater office at (727) 724-6373 to schedule an evaluation. We look forward to helping you feel better.
PRP Therapy for Back Pain & Injury Recovery
Dr. Sid Panchamia explains how platelet-rich plasma therapy may help patients with chronic back pain, soft tissue injuries, ligament damage, and pain following auto accidents or personal injury. Learn why Omni Spine & Joint's proprietary PRP preparation method differs from standard off-the-shelf kits.
[0:00] Hi, I'm Dr. Sid Panchamia with Omni Spine and Joint. If you're struggling with chronic back pain that hasn't improved with traditional treatments, you may be a candidate for PRP therapy. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It's a regenerative treatment that uses your body's own healing properties to help repair damaged or inflamed tissues.
[0:14] We begin by drawing a small amount of your blood. That blood is then processed to concentrate the platelets which contain powerful growth factors that support healing.
[0:31] Unlike many practices that use prepackaged kits off the shelf, we use a proprietary method of preparing and concentrating our platelet rich plasma. This allows us to create a higher quality product that is customized to the patient which may improve the effectiveness of treatment.
[0:49] Once prepared, the PRP is injected precisely into the injured area using image guidance for safety and accuracy. PRP therapy is often used for chronic disc pain, facet joint pain, and ligament injuries and other spine related conditions.
[1:08] The goal is not to simply mask the pain, but to support your body's own natural healing response. Because PRP is derived from your own blood, it is a non-surgical and medication-free option for appropriate patients.
[1:24] We treat patients in Riverview, Clearwater, and the surrounding Tampa Bay communities who are looking for advanced non-surgical solutions for chronic pain. If you're interested in learning whether PRP is right for you, we would be happy to evaluate your condition and discuss your options.
[1:46] Call our Riverview office at 813-533-5522 or our Clearwater office at 727-724-6373 to schedule an appointment. We look forward to helping you move toward lasting relief.
